Spring Break

This week has been a long time coming. Lisa, the kiddos and I decided to come to Pigeon Forge for a few days to take a well deserved break. The cabin we rented is very nice and secluded and the city hasn't been crowded a bit. More importantly I have been able to have some great quiet times and do a lot of studying for upcoming series' for Student Impact! I believe it is very important to recharge your batteries as often as possible. Whether you take a trip or just take some time at home it is important for us as Christians to be on top of our game! So I ask you this, how well are you taking care of yourself?

Weekend Wrap-Up

This weekend was certainly an adventure to say the least. For the last 5 or 6 years we have carried our Student Ministry group whitewater rafting down the Ocoee River in Tennessee, and this has to be one of my favorite weekends of the year! I love going up and spending a couple of hours on a pretty fast river getting caught up in all the adventure and excitement that wait around each bend in the river, it is truly riveting! Sure we don't sleep very much while we are gona and I am usually Dawg (worse than dog) tired when I get home but I am already ready to go again. What if we took our relationship with God as seriously as we love the adventure of rafting? I mean when you have a relationship with the creator you are filled with adventure and excitement and who knows what He has in store for us around the bend! Your new life with Christ is supposed to be an adventure each day so let me ask you this question, is your life filled with Class III-IV rapids, or is your raft easing along in a slow moving flow? I can hear the fast water just ahead of you...are you ready???

Thought for Labor Day

You know the same power that Christ defeated death and the grave with is the same power that we have living inside each of us! How different would we live our lives, how much better would our respective Churches be if we lived like we had this power in and on our lives? To know that the Holy Spirit dwells in us is an amazing thing to try to wrap my heart and mind around, and this Labor Day begins a season in my life that each day I am going to try and live with this Awesome Power on display in my life! Will you join me?

Okay let me start by saying this...I have no clue what I am doing as far as blogging goes, but every cool person in ministry has a blog and I wanted one too.
